Job Classification: Volunteer Police Reserve Officer
The Sweet Home Police Department is continuing its efforts to establish an ongoing list of Volunteer Police Reserve Officer applicants to provide assistance to full-time police department personnel. This is a Non-Paid/Volunteer position. Candidates must complete the National Testing Network FrontLine National exam and ORPAT.
Candidates will need to sign up with the National Testing Network and have successfully completed and passed all phases of this stage of the hiring process to continue in the hiring process.

High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid OREGON State Driver's License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Visual Acuity Standards 1.1. Monocular vision must be at least 20/30 (Snellen) corrected in each eye and not worse than 20/100 (Snellen) uncorrected in either eye. 1.2. Binocular vision must be at least 20/20 (Snellen) corrected. 1.3. Applicant whose uncorrected vision is worse than 20/100 must wear soft contact lenses to meet the corrected vision requirement.
College: Preferred, but not required.
Additional Requirements: Must be able to attend the Mid-Valley Reserve Training Academy. Reserve Officer pays for half of tuition initially, and is reimbursed after 18 months of continuous service in good standing.
Hiring Process: Written application and supplemental application, written and physical testing with NTN, panel interview if passing scores with NTN, background investigation, psychological exam, medical exam.
