Public Safety Suitability Assessment FAQ Community Attitudes Assessment and the Public Safety Aptitude Test What are these tests? These tests are components that are part of the NTN testing process. Agencies may view your score on the tests as part of their selection process. When should I complete the test(s)? The tests are part of the NTN application process, and you should take them as soon as possible. Why am I taking these? How are the scores used? These tests are part of the NTN application process. This test may be used by certain agencies as a component of their hiring process. Will my score be shared with the agencies I'm applying to? Your score will be shared with an agency if that agency chooses to utilize this test component as part of their selection process. What if I don’t finish the test in the allotted time? These are timed test components, you need to finish all the questions within the time specified. Will I be able to see my score for these tests? No, you will not be able to see your score. Can I retake the test(s)? If you re-apply and purchase the test for the job you are interested in, you will retake the job suitability test(s). You cannot retake the job suitability tests by themselves. When taking the test, I accidentally clicked out/the browser crashed. What should I do? If you accidentally log out, your browser crashes while you are taking the test, or you have any other issues with any questions, close the browser right away and please contact support. Do not continue taking the exam or answer additional questions. What is the Public Safety Suitability Assessment like? This assessment contains two parts: 1) The Community Attitudes Assessment and 2) the Public Safety Aptitude Test. Part 1 and Part 2 are accessed through your candidate account and can be completed at different times: I feel like I missed some questions that I should not have. How will missed questions impact my score? Failing to answer a few questions before the timer runs out will have no impact on your score. However, you should continue to answer questions and do the best you can as skipping too many questions will result in a lower score. Community Attitudes Assessment The Community Attitudes Assessment has several types of questions. You will review and make judgments about situations in photographs. You will also read statements and respond with how much you agree with the statement. Public Safety Aptitude Test The Public Safety Aptitude Test consists of multiple choice questions, containing statements and answers. You will identify the most logical answer from each statement. You cannot skip any questions. Once the timer starts, it does not stop.
