Any fire department in the United States can have access to FFM scores. Not all fire departments require or allow FFM results in lieu of a CPAT. Please check the department job listings to see if FFM is required or allowed for your selected departments. How long are FFM results valid? FFM results are good for one year certified by National Testing Network. Some departments may require FFM results more recent than one year. Please check the department job listing to see if restrictions apply. How is the FFM graded? The FFM is made up of a series of 10 events. Each event has a separate time limit, and one point may be awarded for a fast enough time. A total of 8 out of 10 possible points is needed to pass the FFM. Please see the Candidate Orientation Guide for more details. How are results sent to departments? NTN Departments will have access to your FFM results. For departments not selected through NTN, you can print a verification letter of your test results from your account. How often can I take the test? Candidates will have the ability to take the FFM as many times as needed to pass. Each attempt at the FFM will require the same payment as the initial testing process. Where can I get more information about the FFM and how to prepare? Please read the Candidate Orientation Guide and watch the Candidate Orientation Video to prepare yourself for taking the exam. You may also sign up for an orientation session before the exam to further prepare and have the opportunity for hands-on practice. Does NTN accept FFM results from other organizations? Each department decides what FFM results they will accept. If you have completed the FFM at a testing center other than NTN, you must contact the departments on your list to confirm that they will accept your FFM results. Can I reschedule or get a refund for a test? Exam fees are non-refundable. You can request an exam reschedule up until one week prior to your exam date. A schedule change within one week of an exam is not allowed. Submit your exam reschedule request by contacting support.
