The Lewis County Sheriff's Office is currently building an ongoing eligibility list.

The agency requires the completion of the Frontline National exam as well as the NTN Public Safety Self Assessments (PSSA).

Salary Information: For 2022, base salary range from $5,338 (Step 1) to $6,535 (Step 7), yearly step increase to year seven, education incentive, longevity, and specialty pay depending on assignment. A Lateral applicant will be placed at a salary step commensurate with his/her qualifications and experience.

Benefits Information: For 2022, the Employer contributes $2,414.67 per month toward medical, dental, vision plan premiums. Employee pays $105.39 per month. Paid vacation and sick time, paid holidays, VEBA account, deferred comp available.

** Employee salary and benefits are established through a Collective Bargaining Agreement.

Agency Information: The Lewis County Sheriff’s Office (LCSO) is a professional and progressive full-service law enforcement agency for the unincorporated region of Lewis County. The agency is organized into three Bureaus: Operations, Corrections, and Services that are overseen by the Sheriff’s Administrative Staff. Relative to other Sheriff’s Offices in the state, LCSO is an average-sized agency of 110 employees comprised of Deputies, Corrections Officers, Support Staff and Administrative Staff. Academy Certification:

Unlawful sexual misconduct.
Convicted of any misdemeanor involving theft, sex offenses, moral turpitude, or violence. Any act of domestic violence.
Incarceration for any reason.
Criminal conduct as an adult.
The applicant’s association with persons having notoriety for involvement in criminal activity.
The commission of any act evidencing unfairness, untruthfulness, cheating, dishonesty, or disrespect for the rights of others.
The commission of acts evidencing recklessness or irresponsibility.
Use of a prostitute.
Adult misdemeanor convictions and/or juvenile felony convictions.
Knowingly involved in the illegal trafficking (sale, transportation for sale or manufacture) of marijuana or any other narcotic or controlled substance.
Ever participated with individuals or groups that were involved in criminal activities.
Multiple traffic infractions (i.e. no liability insurance, no driver’s license or speeding), reckless driving or negligent driving.
Knowingly driving without a valid driver’s license or without vehicle insurance;

Unexplained frequent job turnover.
Negative personal or professional references or dishonorable discharged from the US Armed Forces.
Intentional misrepresentation on an employment applicant.

Unresolved credit accounts or items sent to collection agencies.
