Job Classification: Full-Time Police Officer - Lateral Entry
The City of Perrysburg is currently building an eligibility list for upcoming vacancies. The department requires the candidate’s Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ). You can access the questionnaire through your candidate account. The PHQ must be completed by the closing date or you will not be considered further in the process.
Candidates must also submit an application for employment via the City of Perrysburg’s job posting on governmentjobs.com. Applications must be completed by August 10, 2021. All candidates must complete the FrontLine National Test for Law Enforcement through National Testing Network (NTN) prior to August 10, 2021.
Salary Information: Starting Pay $28.53 - $36.34/hr**Lateral Transfer (experienced Officers): Based on evaluation by the City of the lateral transfer officer’s ability to perform required duties at a level commensurate to their years of experience, the City may, at its sole discretion, compensate and extend vacation benefits to a lateral transfer officer up to the same rate as established for current employees in the same classification and who have equal service time with the City as the lateral transfer officer.

Department Overview: The Perrysburg Police Division consists of 33 full-time sworn officers serving nearly 21,000 residents covering an area of approximately 12 square miles. In addition to the standard uniform patrol assignments, the Police Division has officers serving in a variety of ancillary assignments including DARE, Bike Patrol, the Field Training Program, the Detective Bureau, Technical Crash Investigation, and the Use of Force Training Program.
Area Information: The City of Perrysburg is located in Wood County in Northwest Ohio. It is situated just off of Interstate 75, along the Maumee River, just minutes away from Lake Erie. Perrysburg has a beautiful historic downtown district, a nationally ranked library, and an outstanding school system.
