Job Classification: Full-Time Police Officer
The Springfield Township Police Department is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Police Officer with immediate openings.
Applicants currently employed and classified as full-time police officers in the State of Ohio with continuous road patrol experience of at least one year, and who were required to take an entrance exam at their current agency, are exempt from participating in the National Testing Network’s written examination phase. Applicants who meet the criteria for exemption from the written examination phase must complete and submit an application. Applications are available online by visiting www.springfieldtwp.org and searching under “Apply for a Job Tab”
Candidates who are not exempt from the examination phase must take the FrontLine National exam through the National Testing Network. Candidates are also required to complete an application and the PHQ questionnaire. Applications and the PHQ questionnaire must be submitted through your NTN Candidate portal. NTN suggests completing the PHQ as soon as possible to avoid delays in your process.
There is no specific deadline for completing an application or written examination, and the Springfield Township Police Department will continue to accept applications until all available positions have been filled. However, applicants are encouraged to submit their applications or complete the written examination as soon as possible, as positions will be filled as qualified candidates are identified

Salary Information: $27.41 to $45.71 DOQ

Department Overview: The Springfield Township Police Department handles over 32,000 calls for service each year. The agency is comprised of the following assignments: road patrol, criminal investigators, IMPACT unit, traffic safety, drone team, school resources officers, and K9 officers. There are opportunities to participate in multi-jurisdictional SWAT, mobile field force, underwater search and rescue, and honor guard teams, as well as local and federal narcotics investigators. Road patrol officers work a 12-hour schedule and are eligible for specialized assignments after three years.
