Salary: Motor Carrier Officers receive a starting salary of approximately $54,000 and reach a top salary in six years of over $81,000.

Motor Carrier Officers are fully armed members of the Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. They specialize in commercial vehicles and duties include traffic enforcement, crash investigation, driver and vehicle inspections, criminal interdiction, hazardous material transport, regulatory compliance, weigh station operation, infrastructure protection, as well as general emergency response. Motor Carrier Officer's patrol is self-directed and encourages proactive and independent decision making.
Age:Must be at least 21 years of age by recruit school graduation. Citizenship Required:Applicants must be a United States CitizenHigh School Grad / GED:Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.DDriver's License:Applicants must have a valid driver’s license.
