Motor Carrier Officers are fully armed members of the Michigan State Police Commercial Vehicle Enforcement Division. They specialize in commercial vehicles and duties include traffic enforcement, crash investigation, driver and vehicle inspections, criminal interdiction, hazardous material transport, regulatory compliance, weigh station operation, infrastructure protection, as well as general emergency response. Motor Carrier Officer's patrol is self-directed and encourages proactive and independent decision making.
Age: Must be at least 21 years of age by recruit school graduation.
Citizenship Required: Applicants must be a United States Citizen
High School Grad/GED: Applicants must have a high school diploma or G.E.D
Valid MICHIGAN Driver's License: Applicants must have a valid driver’s license.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Applicants must have the ability to read and speak English.
Vision: Possess 20/20 corrected vision in each eye.
Prior Experience: ~ No degree or law enforcement experience required – pay and benefits while in training ~
