Position Title: Firefighter Paramedic
The Elk Creek Fire Protection District is currently hiring for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic with one position currently available! Candidates must complete the following before October 3, 2022 to be considered:
Salary Information: Firefighter/ Paramedic- Probation -$58,068.00 then $64,520.00 after probationary year is completed. The salary range for firefighter/ paramedic is $64,520- $77,818 annually.

Department Overview:
The general responsibilities of this position include: extinguishing structure and wildland fires; providing emergency medical care to the sick or injured and transporting to the hospital; responding to fire alarms, hazmat and other emergency calls to protect life and property; driving emergency apparatus; performing technical rescues; performing assigned service and maintenance of apparatus, equipment and stations; performing fire prevention, public education and public relations duties; performing community services and other duties that fall within the guidelines of the mission and goals of the District.
The fire district currently has one company officer and three firefighters per shift as well as a roster of 32 volunteer members. There are also two career Chief Officers, a part-time Logistics Chief Officer, a part time fire marshal, a career wildland captain, a 10-person wildland fire suppression module and a 5-person hazard fuel reduction crew.
District Information:
Elk Creek Fire Protection District is a combination department that covers Aspen Park, Conifer and Pine Junction, Colorado. The fire district responds to approx. 1400 calls per year in an area of mixed residential, commercial and recreational properties. Calls include 60% EMS and 40% fire. The district has a focus on wildland fire due to the WUI risk and provides opportunities for out of district fire assignments.

Working Environment and Physical Requirements: This position requires work in a variety of locations and conditions, including but not limited to, the fire station and other similar inside work areas, and emergency scenes of every type.
Schedule : There are 3 shifts and line firefighters work a 48 hour on and 96 hours off schedule.
