Job Classification: Reserve Police Officer (Level I) – Part-Time
The Costa Mesa Police Department is currently hiring for the position of part-time Reserve Police Officer. This is not for entry-level Police Recruit/Academy Graduate or full-time Police Officer.
Candidates must submit an on-line employment application located here and complete the FrontLine National exam through National Testing Network. Written exam scores sent to the City of Costa Mesa without submitting a qualifying application will not be considered.
Applications and written exam scores must be received by July 18 to be considered for the Physical Agility Test scheduled tentatively for August 13.
Salary Information: $38.00 hourly

Age: 21 years of age or older at the time of appointment.
Citizenship Required: Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship.
High School Grad/GED: Must be a high school graduate, pass the General Education Development test or other high school equivalency test approved by CDE, or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited or approved institution.
Valid CALIFORNIA Driver's License: California Class C driver's license.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Required
Vision: 20/20 each eye corrected or uncorrected. Normal color vision.
College: College course work with an emphasis in police science, social sciences, or a related field is desirable.
Necessary Certifications: Must have completed a California P.O.S.T. Reserve Academy as a Level I Reserve or a California P.O.S.T. Basic Police Academy and possess a current (non-expired) Certificate.
