The Costa Mesa Police Department is currently hiring for the position of entry-level of Police Recruit.
Candidates must submit an on-line employment application located here and complete the FrontLine National exam through the National Testing Network. Written exam scores sent to the City of Costa Mesa without submitting a qualifying application will not be considered.
Applications and written exam scores must be received by July 18 to be considered for the Physical Agility Test scheduled tentatively for August 13.
Salary Information: $30.00 per hour while attending the Police Academy.

Area Information: City of Costa Mesa located in Orange County, CA. It encompasses 16.8 square miles and is located approximately one mile from the coastline.
Population: Approximately 115,000
Age: 21 years of age or older at the time of appointment/graduation of the academy.
Citizenship Required: Must be a United States citizen or permanent resident alien who is eligible for and has applied for citizenship.
High School Grad/GED: Must be a high school graduate, pass the General Education Development test or other high school equivalency test approved by CDE, or have attained a two-year, four-year, or advanced degree from an accredited or approved institution.
Valid CALIFORNIA Driver's License: California Class C driver's license. Out-of-State applicants must possess a driver’s license in their state of residence at the time of application, and must be willing and able to obtain a CA driver’s license by the time of appointment.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Required
Vision: 20/20 each eye corrected or uncorrected. Normal color vision.
College: College course work with an emphasis in police science, social sciences, or a related field is desirable.
