Department Overview: JeffCom 911 provides all dispatch services for Jefferson County. All emergency calls for service for law enforcement, fire, and emergency medical services are received and dispatched through this center, 24 hours a day, 7 days per week. JeffCom has E-911 technology, with New World Systems (NWS) CAD and Records Management software. There are 10 dispatchers, typically working in pairs, and 2 dispatch supervisors.
Area Information: Port Townsend is the largest city in Jefferson County, it is a maritime community that hosts many festivals, regattas, and numerous other activities year-round. This is a beautiful community with several state parks, water-based activities, hiking, nearby skiing, fishing, hunting, and so much more! The community is approximately an hour to the Bainbridge Ferry, which takes its fares to downtown Seattle—you’ll have all the benefits of living in a small town, with the convenience of being able to go into the city for concerts, plays, and city nightlife.

Ability to Read/Speak English: Must possess the ability to read, speak, and write the English language.
Vision: Correctable to 20/20
Additional Requirements: Work Shifts: Days, Swings & Graveyard. Rotating 8-10-12 hour shifts with start times staggered throughout the day to facilitate 24/7 coverage. Must be flexible to work all shifts and holidays based on organizational needs. Overtime may be assigned with little or no notice.
Typing skill 40 WPM; 80% Accuracy
