The Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District is currently accepting applicants for the purpose of establishing a hiring eligibility list for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic or Firefighter/EMT. This position requires a FireTEAM test and a completed Public Safety Self Assesment (PSSA).
Salary Information:Firefighter/EMT - $15.00 ($44,850 estimated annual salary)Firefighter/Paramedic - $17.35 ($51,877 estimated annual salary)
District and Area Information: TMFMD was formed in 2014 as the successful result of collaborative efforts and merger of Lakeside, Show Low, Linden and White Mountain Lake Fire Districts. Located in the beautiful White Mountains in eastern Arizona, TMFMD is dedicated to superior emergency fire, medical, safety and education services for our customers spanning a 250+ square mile area with an ambulance transport service area of 400 square miles. The District has grown to serve 34,500 full time residents and a seasonal population of 50,000. Operating out of five fire stations the District provides fire protection and emergency medical services, inter-facility ambulance transports, public education, fire prevention and maintains an ISO Class 3 rating. Deploying daily staffing of 27 career Fire/EMS personnel, TMFMD responds to approximately 5,500 calls per year. STEP 1: FireTEAM application and testing through National Testing Network (NTN): Previous successful completion of the FireTEAM test must have been within twelve (12) months of the March 30, 2021 closing date. FireTEAM results older than 12 months will not be accepted.STEP 2: Completed PSSA - Successful completion of the Work Attitude Questionnaire through NTN is required to apply for this position. STEP 3: TMFMD Employment Application & Documents Requirement: In order for an applicant to be eligible for consideration to proceed through the assessment and selection process, it is the responsibility of the candidate to submit a COMPLETE application packet to Jo Baird either by email firstname.lastname@example.org or mail 3561 E Deuce of Clubs, Show Low, AZ 85901 no later than March 30, 2021.

Selection process will consist of Application screening, written testing through National Testing Network and interview(s).
Upon completion of the entry level exam all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Timber Mesa Fire and Medical District. Select candidates who attain a passing score on the entry level exam will then be contacted and invited to continue to participate in other stages of the department selection process.
The pre-employment process for the successful candidate may include but is not limited to: background checks (driving record, criminal history, etc.), pre-employment physical, drug screen and reference checks. Misrepresentation of any information on employment application or during the recruitment process may be an employment disqualifier.
Candidate NotificationThe initial notification, if selected to move on through the assessment process, will be completed by April 9, 2021.
