The St. Augustine Fire Department is building an ongoing eligibility list from which they will pull candidates from as needed.
The St. Augustine Fire Department requires the completion of the NTN FireTEAM exam, a CPAT through NTN, or the local “Tri-County” physical ability test, as well as the department application. The department application is available here.
Salary Information: $45,247.56

Department Overview:
Our department prides itself on tradition and providing great customer service. As an ISO Class 1 department, The St Augustine Fire Department has a large emphasis on training and fast response times. Our firefighters respond to approximately 4,100 calls per year, with an average response time of 4 minutes. We protect the City’s 14,000 residents and its’ 5.3 million annual visitors from fires and natural disasters and provide code enforcement, confined space rescue, emergency medical services, emergency preparedness, fire safety inspections, fire suppression, public education, and water rescue.

St. Augustine, the nation’s oldest city, is tucked between Jacksonville and Daytona on the Northeast Coast. It is approximately 11 sq. miles- 8.5 of which are land and the other 2.5 water. The city boasts a charming historic district with cobblestone streets, quaint cafes, bars, unique shops and bed, and breakfasts. It is also home to the Castillo De San Marcos National Monument, Flagler College, Lightner Museum, and alluring Anastasia Island. St. Augustine is surrounded by St. Johns County and our department works closely with St. Johns County Fire and Rescue.

Schedule: Our Firefighters work a 24- hour shift every third day, from 7a- 7a.
