Job Classification: Students that have an interest in Law Enforcement.
Department Overview:
The Law Enforcement program is designed to prepare the student for a career in law enforcement utilizing highly experienced instructors throughout the process. Students will receive a strong mix of classroom instruction, hands-on training, and practicum experience.
The CWI Law Enforcement Program has been approved by the Idaho Peace Officer Standards and Training (POST) Council, thus eliminating the graduate's need to attend the basic police academy before taking the certification exam. Accepted applicants must turn 18 on or before the first day of class.
Upon satisfactory completion of the Law Enforcement Program, students will take the Idaho POST Challenge written exams for Patrol and Detention. Students will also be required to pass the Idaho POST physical fitness examination. Idaho POST staff proctor all written exams.

High School Grad/GED: None
Additional Requirements: Prospective students must complete a criminal background check; Successfully pass the NTN exam; Polygraph examination; CWI Law Enforcement Program application; CWI Math and English placement test; and Medical and Vision exams. Prospective students will complete a Law Enforcement Pre-Application form. Once this form has been processed through CWI’s OneStop Services, you will be contacted by CWI staff to schedule an interview. Upon clearance from the CWI LE Program Director, prospective students will be required to take the NTN FrontLine National test. All tests must be completed by July 16, 2021 for consideration for the Fall 2021 Program. After successfully completing this test, a timeline will be provided with a list of additional required paperwork to start the Fall 2021 class, which begins on August 23, 2021. There will be mandatory new student orientation in July 2021.
Process: The Law Enforcement Program is currently eligible for Title IV funding for students to receive Federal Financial Aid.
