The Hood River County Sheriff's Office is hiring for Patrol Deputy. To be eligible, candidates are required to complete the NTN FrontLine National exam, the ORPAT certification, and you must apply online at HRC Application during the time it is open.
The deadline to complete the testing and the department application is February 28th at 4 PM PST.
Salary Range: $4002 – $4855/month
Benefit Information: The salary for this position is supplemented by a benefit package, including a choice of Hood River County’s Major medical packages through Oregon Educators Benefit Board (OEBB). Currently, Hood River County pays 85% of the premium for you and dependents on Medical and Vision. Dental coverage is offered to you; up to full family. The County’s contribution may change from year to year. Other benefits included are Life Insurance, Public Employees Retirement System (PERS), access to Employee Assistance Program (EAP), paid vacation, paid sick leave and those benefits required by law. Optional benefits include participation in a 457 B deferred compensation plan and/or a 125 flexible spending plan.
Bi-lingual employees and/or those possessing DPSST Intermediate and Advanced Certificates receive additional compensation.

The Sheriff Office responsibilities cover the entire spectrum of public safety — 911, parole, and probation, emergency management, law enforcement patrol and investigations, search and rescue, service of legal process of the courts, prisoner transport, court security, off-highway vehicle enforcement, marine patrol, forest patrol, the operation of the NORCOR regional jail, and animal control.

Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors: The Hood River County Sheriff’s Office, in compliance with DPSST directives conducts a post conditional offer background check on all position finalists. This comprehensive, in-depth process is required to determine Moral Fitness, Honesty, Integrity, Character and Credibility of the individual. The check includes all facets of the finalist’s past (education, roommates, family, financial, residential, criminal and driving). Minimum standards and disqualifiers are defined by Oregon Law.
