Position Title: Firefighter/Paramedic
The Klamath County Fire District 1 is currently hiring for Fire Fighter/Paramedic.To be considered for this position all applications must be submitted by May 22nd, 2020 at 4pm PST.
All candidates must take the FireTEAM exam through National Testing Network, complete the candidate PHQ & WAQ, upload the required documents to your NTN account, as well as a current/passing CPAT card, to be considered further in the hiring process.
Salary Information:$5000-$6512 per monthIncentive Pay: Paramedic incentive (8%), Hazmat Response Team ($1,100/yr), ambulance incentive, longevity incentive (2%-5%).

Department Overview: KCFD1 provides fire protection to 192 square miles in and around the City of Klamath Falls serving 52,000 patrons. We provide ALS transport services covering a total of 490 square miles. In 2019, KCFD1 personnel responded to 7,795 calls for service. Through a contract with the Oregon State Fire Marshal, the District provides a Hazardous Materials Team (HM-4) with primary response to Klamath and Lake Counties.

College: Associate’s Degree in Fire Science or closely related field preferred.

Additional Requirements: Must obtain Firefighter II and ICS 800 within three (3) years of hire.
Hiring Process: Qualified candidates will be required to complete a Chief’s Interview and skills assessment.
Felony/Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Must have no felony convictions or other disqualifying criminal histories within the past 10 years. Must be able to meet Oregon Department of Public Safety Standards and Training (DPSST) criteria.
Driving Disqualifiers: Must be able to obtain a valid Oregon driver’s license and have no record of license suspension or revocation in any other state or territory. Must have fewer than three moving violations in the most recent three-year period.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: Manufacture, trafficking, possession, and use of
substances containing THC, such as marijuana, or illegal drugs is prohibited.
Additional Disqualifiers: Must meet the district’s physical qualifications and pass a background check and drug screen prior to appointment. Dismissal from the Armed Forces under any terms other than an honorable discharge.
Intentional false statements, deception or fraud during the selection process will also be grounds for disqualification.
Veteran’s Preference: Veteran’s preference points will be applied in accordance with state law.
