Position Title: Public Safety Dispatcher
The City of Bloomington is building an eligibility list for the position of Public Safety Dispatcher. Candidates are required to complete the following to be considered for the position:

High School Grad/GED: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Prior Experience: Experience in general office work with experience in criminal justice and emergency services dispatching a plus.
Job Description: Performs specialized work in emergency (i.e. E 911) and non-emergency communications, including screening, receiving, prioritizing and dispatching 911 and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS services. Receives incoming calls for assistance and determines which resources to allocate to caller needs.

Work is performed in office and emergency services communications center environment, in emergency and stressful situations. The employee is frequently required to use hands to operate a variety of communication devices. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately noisy.
