Prior Experience: Experience in general office work with experience in criminal justice and emergency services dispatching a plus.
Necessary Certifications:
Job Description: Performs specialized work in emergency (i.e. E 911) and non-emergency communications, including screening, receiving, prioritizing and dispatching 911 and non-emergency calls for Police, Fire, and EMS services. Receives incoming calls for assistance and determines which resources to allocate to caller needs. This list may not include all of the tasks and/or knowledge which may be expected of the employee, nor does it cover all of the specific duties which may be required. Other duties may be assigned.
Working Conditions: Work is performed in office and emergency services communications center environment, in emergency and stressful situations. The employee is frequently required to use hands to operate a variety of communication devices. The noise level in the work environment ranges from quiet to moderately noisy.
