Department Overview: The Logan County Sheriff's Office oversees the Logan County Jail. The Jail can house up to 65 inmates and is staffed 24 hours per day 365 days per year. The Logan County Sheriff's Office is responsible for the safety of 29,000 residents across 600 square miles.

Lateral Hiring: At the discretion of the Sheriff, a new employee who is a certified Corrections Officer in the State of Illinois mat start at a salary up to “After five (5)” years of service in the wage scale. A new employee shall only start at a step which is commensurate with the years of service the new employee has completed with another police department.
