The Redondo Beach Fire Department is currently hiring for Firefighter positions. This posting will remain open until all positions are filled.

Salary Information: $5,145 - $6,2019/month with many additional special pays and bonuses available.
Benefit Information: The City offers a cafeteria-style benefit plan, with medical benefits through CalPERS, dental plans through Delta Dental, and vision plans through VSP. The City contributes $1,174 monthly for employee-only coverage, and $1,221 monthly for the employee plus one or more dependents. Other benefits include City-paid life insurance and employee assistance programs. Deferred compensation is available through ICMA-RC. Academy Certification: Completion of California State Firefighter I Academy Certification required
Note: Certification as a Firefighter I from the California State Fire Marshal is highly desired. Current California Paramedic License and accreditation as a paramedic by the Los Angeles Country EMSA are highly desired; opportunity to promote to Firefighter/Paramedic may be available in the future.
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: The position requires knowledge of: Modern firefighting methods and procedures; emergency medical methods and procedures; CPR techniques; safety practices and regulations; fire science; principles of fire prevention and arson investigation; various firefighting rescue and emergency medical tools and equipment. The City offers tuition reimbursement of up to $1,500 per employee per fiscal year, for a total of $20,000 max for all members of the Redondo Beach Firefighters’ Association.
