Orange County Fire Rescue is currently building an eligibility list for future Paramedic 12 hour positions. The department requires passing FireTEAM scores and a valid Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT).
APPLICATION PROCESS:The process has two (2) separate applications. The OCFRD firefighter application packet can be downloaded by visiting Orange County Government FL Website (www.orangecountyfl.net) click on the following tabs in sequential order: click on Visitors, click on Emergency & Safety, click on Fire Rescue Careers, and click on Firefighter Application Packet. Applicants must complete this application, have it notarized, and bring the firefighter application packet to Orange County Human Resources before the job posting closing date.
Salary: $16.79 per hour
Overview: We are currently looking for State of Florida certified paramedics to join Orange County Fire Rescue department. This is a wonderful opportunity to join a great organization that proudly serves the citizens of Orange County.
This is specialized work in the protection of life through emergency services to the citizens and visitors of Orange County. Day-to-day functions depend on the quick reaction and competent care to citizens. An employee in this position is responsible for Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Life Support (ALS) of others.
Work is performed under the general supervision of a Lieutenant with considerable independence requiring discretion, sound judgment, and initiative while being committed to organizational values and providing on-target customer service and positive community relations.

FIREFIGHTER ENTRY LEVEL TESTING (Fire Team Video Test and CPAT): All candidates must pass the Ergometrics Fire Team Video Test and Candidate Physical Ability Test (CPAT) to participate in the hiring process. Applicants with a passing test score on file do not need to re-take these tests. The Fire Team test scores are valid for 2 years and the CPAT test scores are valid for 1 year. Candidates who do not have a valid test score can obtain information on taking the entry-level testing by contacting Orange County Fire Rescue Department at OCFRDCareers@ocfl.net for the Fire Team testing and contact CPAT@ocfl.net to CPAT testing.
