The Rural Metro Fire Department is building an ongoing eligibility list for Firefighter/Paramedic. This position requires FireTEAM.Rural Metro Fire is seeking experienced Firefighter/Paramedics to expand our team of highly trained public safety professionals. The purpose of this posting is to establish a recruiting process in order to meetprospective candidates and develop a mutual interest. Multiple positions will be filled.
Position Summary: Firefighter/Paramedics under general supervision perform fire prevention, fire suppression, hazardous material incident response and emergency rescue and Advance Life Support medical assistance duties to protect life and property; performs related responsibilities as required.
Salary Information: $52,037.20-$66,232.00

Valid ARIZONA State Driver's License: Valid driver license with acceptable driving record in accordance with Rural/Metro policy. DUI within last 5 years is disqualifying.

While performing the duties of this job, fire department personnel are frequently required to walk, sit, climb, crawl, kneel, bend, stoop, lift, talk, see, hear, feel, use clear speech and operate machinery. There is a need to reach and perform moderate (20-50 pounds) and frequent heavy (50-200 pounds) lifting during the use of tools and equipment, and while assisting others while extinguishing fires or treating ill/injured persons.
Firefighting may require an annual pack test. The Pack test refers to work capacity tests used to qualify individuals for Wildland firefighting duty. The pack test measures aerobic
capacity, muscular strength and muscular endurance. The pack test requires completion at the arduous endurance level: a 3-mile hike with a 45-pound pack to be completed within 45 minutes.
