Job Classification: Firefighter Part-Time
The City of Kingman Fire Department is building an ongoing eligibility list for Firefighter Part-Time. This position requires FireTEAM and a valid CPAT through National Testing Network.

Department Overview: Formally established in 1921, the Kingman Fire Department today is a full-spectrum life safety agency protecting the residents and visitors of Kingman. The Department’s outstanding dedicated men and women protect life, property and the environment through the direct involvement in fire prevention and suppression, public education, pre-hospital emergency medical care, technical rescue, hazardous materials mitigation, disaster response, 911 dispatch and community service.The Department continuously staffs 4 fire stations strategically located throughout the city, a training facility, and a state-of-the-art emergency communications center. Additionally, the Department delivers and receives reciprocation of services through formal automatic and mutual aid agreements with other fire departments in the area and throughout Mohave County. The Department’s emergency communication center provides dispatch services to both the Kingman Fire and Kingman Police Departments, and through IGAs, dispatches for 5 surrounding fire districts.
Area Information: Our beautiful city straddles the scenic Hualapai, Cerbat and Black Mountains, offering hiking, picnicking, camping, and other outdoor activities in the cool pines. The Kingman and Colorado River areas offer a unique range of recreational and historical attractions as do several ghost towns in the area. If you enjoy summers, the rivers and lakes in our area offer fishing along with boating and other forms of water-oriented recreation. Kingman is an easy commute to Las Vegas, Laughlin, Phoenix, the Grand Canyon, and Grand Canyon West/Skywalk or a half day’s drive to Los Angeles or San Diego. We enjoy a wide range of recreation: hiking trails, ATV trails, golf, swimming, museums, wineries, distilleries, microbrewery, Centennial Park’s fitness track, festivals, rodeos, block parties, and so much more.

Vision: NFPA 1582 requirements
Academy Certification: Yes
Necessary Certifications: Certification as an EMT at a minimum of Basic Level in the state of Arizona; Arizona State Certification at the Firefighter II Level or equivalent; May be required to be a Certified Emergency Paramedic. May be required to be a Certified Hazardous Materials Technician.
Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Convictions of a criminal offense will be reviewed thoroughly and can have a bearing on one's employment.
Driving Disqualifiers: Eight (8) points or more in the previous 60 months. More than two (2) chargeable accidents within the previous 60 months. A conviction of driving under the influence within the previous 60 months. License has been cancelled, refused, revoked, suspended, or restricted as a direct result of a moving violation received within the previous 60 months.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: This is a safety-sensitive position.
Employment Disqualifiers: Misrepresentation of any information on employment application will be an employment disqualifier. Successful candidates must be able to attend a minimum of nine (9) of the regular scheduled drills throughout the course of the fiscal year. These training sessions shall be scheduled on the first Saturday of each month from 0800-1700. Must be able to attend any additional required training established by the department.
