Department Overview: Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is a progressive combination department located 1 hour west of Seattle. CKFR is one of the largest fire service providers on the Olympic Peninsula. We're comprised of 86 career, 50 volunteer, and 25 administrative staff members. CKFR provides emergency response services from ten fires stations, six career staffed stations and four all-volunteer stations.
The state of the District is strong and Kitsap county continues to experience tremendous growth. CKFR averages 8,000 calls for service annually, with 75% being emergency medical response. our services include fire suppression, public education, technical rescue, hazardous materials, wildland-interface suppression and full emergency medical services.

Area Information: Central Kitsap Fire and Rescue is located on the Puget Sound one hour's ferry ride from Seattle. Silverdale is an urban, non-incorporated town with several retail businesses. A new YMCA as well as restaurants, a major mall and several coffee shops frame the town. The Olympic Mountains are 90 minutes from Silverdale. The Olympics are known for their hiking, fishing and beauty. Kitsap County has the largest shoreline of any county in the state. As such fishing and boating are popular here.

Prior Experience: 3 Years of Prior paid Experience preferred
Schooling Prior and Post Hiring: Must have HS/GED. Prefer AA degree or higher in fire science or related field.

Driving Disqualifiers: Acceptable driving record.
Drug Use Disqualifiers: As determined by background investigation. Must be non-user of
Employment Disqualifiers: Must pass acceptable background investigation.
Financial Disqualifiers: Must pass acceptable background investigation.
Additional Disqualifiers: Must pass Department requirements for physical and psychological testing.
Additional Information: Conditional offers include passing all tests, including a proficiency
exam with Kitsap County EMS.
