The City of Satellite Beach is currently hiring for one Full-Time Firefighter/EMT. This position is available through invitation from the department only. Applicants must submit with the application a complete 3-year driving history obtained from the Department of Motor Vehicles.

The Firefighter/EMT responds to emergency fire, rescue and medical incidents; provides support functions, including vehicle and equipment maintenance, emergency responses, records and reporting duties, and emergency medical treatment including but not limited to medical emergencies, trauma emergencies and inter facility transports. Plans, organizes, directs and controls fire/rescue and medical service functions within applicable laws, codes, rules and regulations.
Special Requirements: Possession of a valid Florida Operator's License without restrictions other than corrective lenses. Must be a Florida Certified Firefighter II with State Compliance, Florida State EMT, Basic Cardiac Life Support, and Completed a 16 hour Emergency Vehicle Operators Course. The candidate chosen will be expected to complete Fire Service Hydraulics and Fire Apparatus Operator classes as approved through the Florida State Fire College within six months of hire date.
