The Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department is NOW HIRING!
Application and Testing Process:
· Complete application, available at City Hall (201 West Poplar) or online at https://www.sidneyoh.com/Jobs.aspx
· Successfully pass Civil Service Entrance Examination (details below) and selection process. (Bonus points earned with military service, degrees, fire and EMS certifications.)
· National Testing Network is a service provided to conduct entry-level testing in a standardized, professional environment. National Testing Network does not replace the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department’s responsibility and decision making in the testing process. All candidate results are provided to Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department where the final decisions are made.
BEFORE 3:00pm on June 28, 2024 APPLICANTS MUST COMPLETE ALL OF THE FOLLOWING:
· CITY OF SIDNEY APPLICATION PACKET COMPLETED AND TURNED INTO THE CITY
· REGISTER WITH THE NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK (NTN) AND COMPLETE THE FIRETEAM TEST AT ONE OF THE NATIONAL TESTING NETWORK TESTING SITES
Before Testing, please be sure to:
· Review all information related to the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department Firefighter position, including minimum requirements, salary and benefits.
· Detailed information about the testing process for the entry level test.
· Online practice tests at www.fireteamtest.com
· You may complete this testing at any National Testing Network testing site. If you are not located in the Dayton, Ohio region, schedule with the NTN for a location, dates, and test times.
· Take high-quality job simulation tests in a standardized, fair testing environment.
After National Testing Network
· Upon completion of the entry level exam, all candidate scores are automatically forwarded to the Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department.
· Candidates who attain a passing score on the entry-level exam will be required to successfully complete the Sidney Department of Fire and Emergency Services Physical Abilities Test.
· The Sidney Department of Fire and Emergency Services Physical Abilities Test is a certified physical examination for the position of firefighter. The test was certified in November of 2000 by Personnel Selection Services Inc.
· A practice date and testing dates will be scheduled for all candidates who pass the written exam and submit a completed application packet after the application period closes.

· Sidney Fire and Emergency Services Department will contact candidates on the list and will invite them to continue in other stages of the department selection process.
