The Bradenton Fire Department is building an eligibility list to fill one position. Candidates desiring to apply will need to have all testing completed and job requirements met by October 30, 2020 at 17:00 hours to be considered for this round of hiring. Interviews will be conducted the week of November 9, 2020. The anticipated start date is December 7, 2020.
FireTEAM and a valid CPAT testing are both required for this listing.

Salary Information: Starting salary, including holiday pay, is $47,102 per year and incrementally increases over four years to $72,125 through the department’s promotional step program. Educational incentives and specialty pay are available depending on current assignment.

Department Information: The Bradenton Fire Department serves the City of Bradenton in an emergency management, fire suppression, fire prevention, and first responder capacity. Comprised of three stations, the department is staffed by 63 suppression personnel divided among three shifts, and 11 administration and support personnel with offices in the Gene Gallo Central Station.
In response to approximately 6,000 calls for service annually, the department operates six basic life support (BLS) engine companies, two aerial ladders, a special operations/light technical rescue unit, and a marine rescue unit.
Other services include fire prevention and investigation, plans review, pre-fire planning, life safety code inspections, home safety inspections, and smoke alarm installation. Community involvement includes public education and a myriad of public relations events.
City Information: The City of Bradenton is located on the central west coast of Florida, south of Tampa, along the southern bank of the Manatee River. The county seat of Manatee County, the city was chartered in 1903 and currently comprises approximately 15 square miles of residential, commercial, and recreation.
The city features vibrant downtown and waterfront areas that host to community events such as the Bradenton Blues Festival, ArtSlam, Farmer’s Market, and more. The city is home to two major hospitals, the headquarters for Champs Sports and Tropicana Products, the Bishop Museum of Science and Nature, the minor league Bradenton Marauders, and is the winter home and training camp of the Pittsburgh Pirates. Gulf beaches are located just minutes away, west on Manatee Avenue.
