Yamhill County Sheriff's Office is currently hiring for multiple regular full-time entry-level or lateral/certified Deputies in our Corrections Division (SO20-105) and encourages you to submit scores. It is important that you submit your scores to YCSO by the deadline to be considered for employment.
Next Deadline: YCSO will pull scores from NTN on June 30, 2021, so if you are planning to apply, the following MUST be in the NTN system (visible to YCSO) by 3:00 p.m. on June 30, 2021:

CORRECTIONS DIVISION ONLY: Recruitments for Corrections Deputy will continue until filled or until 6/30/2021. Next review will be June 30, 2021 at 3pm; additional reviews, if needed, will occur approximately 6 weeks apart.
Oregon Physical Ability Test (ORPAT):All candidates must complete the ORPAT, which is required prior to hire but not prior to an interview and is scheduled separately from the NTN home page. If not through NTN, official scores must be submitted on official agency letterhead or via official agency email address and include agency contact information. Scores must include the date, time to completion, and components of the exam taken (i.e., Mobility Run, Push Pull Machine, “Dummy” Drag).
YCSO Application Process
Yamhill County Sheriff's Office (YCSO) is sworn to protect and honored to serve the nearly 110,000 residents of our county. Through mutually beneficial cooperative partnerships within our community, we are committed to problem-oriented policing with the goal of reducing the public safety concerns of our citizens and visitors. Yamhill County encompasses 718 square miles and includes the incorporated cities of Amity, Carlton, Dayton, Dundee, Lafayette, McMinnville, Newberg, Sheridan, Willamina, and Yamhill.
We provide correctional and courthouse security services, as well as 24-hour a day patrol of suburban and rural areas, including timberlands and waterways areas. The Yamhill County Correctional Facility is a 255-bed minimum/medium/maximum security adult corrections facility that includes a Work Release Center for up to 50 inmates. The Sheriff's Office patrols the unincorporated areas of the county, as well as several cities that have contracted with YCSO to provide law enforcement services. In addition, the YCSO has several specialized units including Major Crimes Response Team (MCRT), Marine Patrol, Rural/Woods Patrol, and Special Investigation Unit (SIU).
Salary Information:$5,139 - $7,163/month anticipated at hire, depending on experience and position of hire. This position is a represented position through Teamsters Local 223. In addition to incentive pay for education, certification, and bilingual speakers, the following guaranteed base salary increases apply through June 2022 (shown annualized as S1-S8): FY21-22: $66,915 - $93,259.

Valid OREGON State Driver's License: An unrestricted state-issued driver’s license with the ability to obtain an Oregon driver license and a good driving record is required.
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes. Yamhill County also offers bilingual incentive pay.
Vision: Must meet the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training requirements as detailed in Oregon Administrative Rules (OARs) 259-008-0000.
College: Eligible for educational incentive premium based on satisfying education criteria.
Academy Certification: Must be able to be certified by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training within timeline established by OAR.

Hiring Process: Candidates must pass all written, physical, and oral examinations, in addition to medical and psychological examinations. All candidates must be able to pass a personal background check including, but not limited to, criminal, civil, driving, military, educational, and employment history pursuant to OAR 259-008-0015.
