Classification: Communication Technician (911 Dispatcher)
The Columbus Regional Airport Authority (CRAA) has an exciting opportunity available for a Communication Tech (911 Dispatcher) in our Public Safety department.
Salary Information: $24.00 per hour

This role is responsible for prompt and accurate emergency and non-emergency communications in our airport Police department. The Dispatcher is a skilled emergency service position that receives emergency and non-emergency requests for police, fire, security and emergency medical service, determines the nature and urgency of calls and initiates police or other emergency personnel. The role maintains close contact with officers and airport personnel to monitor response and needed support requirements. The position requires a considerable degree of initiative and independent judgment within procedural boundaries in responding to emotionally, disturbed and sometimes aggressive individuals in a variety of situations. The role is the point of contact for various airport calls and the traveling public. The Dispatchers report to a Communications Center Manager.

Citizenship Required : Must be a US citizen
High School Grad/GED : Must possess a High School diploma or GED
Valid OHIO Driver's License : Must possess and maintain a valid Ohio drivers license, in good standing.
Ability to Read/Speak English : Yes
Vision : Average, ordinary, visual acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or products, or operate machinery.
Prior Experience : Prior experience as a Communications Technician with another Public Safety agency is preferred.
Specific Disqualifiers/Behaviors :Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers: Must past background check and fingerprinting and badging process to receive SIDA badge.Driving Disqualifiers: Driver License must be in good standing.Drug Use Disqualifiers: Must be able to pass a drug test.
