Arvada Fire is internationally accredited by the Commission on Fire Accreditation International (CFAI) and has been awarded a Class 1 Public Protection Classification (PPC) from the Insurance Services Office (ISO). We are one of eight agencies in Colorado and 113 nationally with accreditation and an ISO Class 1 rating.
Arvada Fire is dedicated to responder safety. This is evident in our commitment to providing modern response equipment, top of the line Personal Protective Equipment, hands-on live action training and by leveraging cutting edge technology before, during and after responses.New hires will attend Fire Academy which will be a Monday through Friday schedule for approximately 18 weeks. After academy, employees will be assigned to a 48/96 schedule, which allows flexibility in choosing where to live and plenty of time to take advantage of all that Colorado has to offer!
Employees receive excellent pay and benefits, continual training, education opportunities, and promotional opportunities. Firefighting is physically demanding. In order to pass academy and successfully perform the duties of the position, candidates and firefighters must maintain a high level of physical fitness. Candidates will be tested during the hiring process, periodically during academy and annually once hired.
