Position Title: Detention Officer
Ada County Juvenile Services is currently hiring for Detention Officer. All candidates must complete the IMPACT exam through National Testing Network.

GENERAL SUMMARY: Supervises delinquent youth in a secure facility. Security and safety of residents and staff is a primary consideration. Meeting individual and group needs of residents through counseling, training, education, and a wide variety of programming.
SALARY INFORMATION: $17.75 day DOE $18.64 night
SHIFT INFORMATION:
5:50am –6:00pm7:50am -8:00pm 9:50am -10:00pm5:50pm –6:00am
The Juvenile Detention Center is open 24 hours a day, 365 days a year. This position requires availability to work weekends, nights and holidays.

DEPARTMENT OVERVIEW: Ada County Juvenile Services practices the balanced and restorative approach to juvenile justice, which emphasizes reducing the number of youth involved with the justice system, repairing the harm caused by juvenile crime, and giving victims and the community a voice in the process. Our agency employs approximately 150 people who provide services within four collaborative divisions: detention, probation, programs, and support services.
The purpose of the Detention Center is to provide for the care, protection, and well-being of youth, while helping to ensure the protection of the community. The facility has 3 wings and 2 pods, consisting of 71 beds. The Center has more than 50 trained professional staff who provide for the needs of residents twenty-four hours a day, seven days a week.
