Position Title: Wood Dale Police Department Law Enforcement Officer
The Wood Dale Police Department, an Equal Opportunity Employer, is seeking certified, experienced lateral transfer police officers. Applications and testing are now available. Prior Experience: Previous continuous service as a Police Officer in any Illinois municipality, county, university, or state law enforcement agency for a minimum of two year.
Necessary Certifications: Certification from the Illinois Law Enforcement Training and Standards Board as a certified full-time Law Enforcement Officer
Hiring Process: Written exam, oral interview, polygraph, background investigation. Subject to
medical, drug, and psychological test at time of conditional offer of employment.
Work Schedule: All candidates will begin their career within the patrol division. Officers are assigned to 8 hour shifts, which start at 7am, 3pm, and 11pm. Shifts are currently bid on an annual basis and are for a one year period. Days off are picked through a rotating selection process that allows all members of the shift to participate in the selection of days off groupings.
Uniform Allowance: All equipment, uniforms, body armor, and duty weapon provided by the department. Employees are expected to take reasonable care for equipment and are provided an annual uniform allowance to replace items as necessary.
