Parma Police Department is currently establishing a Patrol Officer hiring list! All candidates must take the FrontLine exam through National Testing Network (NTN) by 11:55PM on May 14, 2025.
Candidates must complete the department application, found at https://parma.cloud9.innoprise.com/citizenaccess/ by 11:55pm on May 14, 2025. You will need to use a desktop or laptop computer to apply. Do not use a cell phone or tablet to complete the application process. Do not retrieve system generated emails from your cell phone.
The Department also requires the candidate complete the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ) and Public Safety Self Assessment (PSSA). You can access both questionnaires through your candidate account. NTN suggests completing the PHQ and PSSA as soon as possible so there is not a delay in your process.

SALARY/BENEFITS:
2024-2026: $61,532.20 first year of service; $73,916.05 second year of service; $88,434.88 third year of service

Annual 1st responder pays $1,600
Full initial uniform and equipment outfitting plus annual clothing allowance of $1,600

AGE REQUIREMENTS: No person shall be eligible for an original appointment unless he/she has attained the age of twenty-one (21) years but not yet reached the age of thirty-five (35) years by appointment.
REQUIREMENTS: Must be a United States citizen and high school graduate or have obtained a GED. Copy of valid driver’s license, birth certificate, and high school diploma or GED equivalent MUST be uploaded to the NTN website at: www.nationaltestingnetwork.com. Applicants must attain a minimum score of 65% on the video, and 70% each on the Reading and Writing portion to have passed the test. Only those with a passing score will qualify for further stages of the testing process. Those stages include a mandatory Basic Peace Officer Training requirement and certification, polygraph test, medical exam, background investigation, psychological profile evaluation and passing of a physical agility test (required prior to original appointment but not needed to take the exam). Parma Civil Service will accept proof of passing a physical agility test from any Police Academy certified by the Ohio Peace Officers Commission with a passing score of 15% or better of the Coopers Standard Physical Agility Test. Test for agility tests the period from April 14, 2024, through the date of appointment.

Working Conditions
The Parma Police Department is a 110-officer department that is dedicated to providing the highest quality police services to the residents, businesses, and visitors of the City of Parma. The department is comprised of the Chief of Police, Deputy Chief of Police, four captains, six lieutenants, and ten sergeants. The remaining 92 officers serve full-time as detectives (15), motorcycle officers (10), K-9 unit (5), school resource officers (2), and patrol officers. The Patrol Division operates permanent 12-hour shifts with every other Friday, Saturday, and Sunday off. Ancillary specialty assignments include S.W.A.T., Field Force, Crime Scene Investigation Unit, Bicycle Patrol, Drone Operator, Honor Guard, Field Training Officer, and Range Instructor. The department participates in multi-jurisdictional units including the Southwest Enforcement Bureau (S.W.A.T.). U.S. Marshal’s Fugitive Task Force, Ohio HIDTA (Drug Trafficking), and the F.B.I.’s Joint Terrorism Task Force. Officers are required to complete a field training program after hire. Once training is completed, all officers receive at least 40-hours of in-service training, and further officer developmental training is offered as needed.
