Position Title: Firefighter EMT/Paramedic
The Titusville Fire Department is currently hiring for the position of Firefighter EMT/Paramedic with 3 positions currently available. Candidates must complete the FireTEAM exam and PSSA (Public Safety Self Assessment) before June 14th, 2021 to be considered.

Salary Information: EMT Starting at $36,458/year Paramedic Starting at $38,458/year
Incentive pay for a paramedic once they have gone through the solo process is $4500 (this is in addition to starting pay)

Department Overview: The Titusville Fire Department was established in 1913. We are an ISO Class 2 fire department, placing a high emphasis on training and quick response times. Our firefighters respond to over 9,000 calls per year, with an average response time of under 5 minutes. We protect the City’s 48,000 residents from fires, natural disasters, emergency medical services, emergency preparedness, fire safety inspections, fire suppression, public education, and water rescue. We are one of the few fire departments in central Florida to have a dedicated training facility with a burn room, and tower
City Information: The City of Titusville encompasses a total of 34.3 square miles, with over 5 square miles being intercoastal waters. We have a growing population with numerous commercial and residential construction projects under way. Our run area includes the Indian River intercoastal water way, two airports, Interstate-95, undeveloped wildland, industrial and historic area.

Vision: Vision requirements follow the guidelines as outlined in NFPA 1582.
Academy Certification: State of Florida minimum standards for firefighter
Nature of Work: This is a responsible and skilled position which requires the incumbent to perform specialized work as an individual and/or team member in fire suppression, emergency medical services, fire loss management and other diversified emergency activities. Work primarily involves protection of life and property, and frequently involves prolonged strenuous exertion under extreme hazardous and/or dangerous conditions such as, but not limited to: fire, smoke, noise, extreme heat or cold, heights, cramped spaces, toxic or irritant gases or chemicals, explosive situations, water rescue and adverse weather conditions. Work is performed in accordance with well-established and defined procedures. Assignments are received from department supervisors in fire suppression,
emergency medical services, fire loss management and other diversified emergency activities.
