Position Type: Full-Time, CareerShift Schedule: 24/48-hour shifts (Transitioning to 24/72 by October 2029)Starting Salary: $65,067 annuallyLocation: Marion County, Florida
Firefighter/EMTs protect life and property by responding to fires, medical emergencies, rescues, hazardous conditions, and natural disasters. Duties include fire suppression, rescue operations, basic life support medical care, and other emergency services in accordance with medical direction, departmental policies, and established protocols.
At least 18 years of age
High school diploma or GED
Florida State Certified Firefighter
Florida State Certified EMT
Valid Florida driver's license
CPR certification (AHA or Red Cross)
Ability to meet Florida Statutes Chapter 633.34 and NFPA 1582 medical/physical standards
Applicants must be tobacco-free for at least 12 months prior to applying and remain tobacco-free throughout employment
Physically demanding work performed indoors and outdoors in extreme weather and hazardous conditions, including exposure to smoke, heat, hazardous materials, loud noise, infectious diseases, and other emergency scene hazards.
