The City of Tillamook Police Department is seeking motivated, community-oriented individuals to join our professional law enforcement team. Entry Level candidates must complete the ORPAT and Frontline National tests for this position. ORPAT is scheduled separately from the NTN home page. You must schedule both a Frontline National and ORPAT test for this position.
Lateral Police Officer candidates who are currently certified as a Police Officer in the State of Oregon only need to complete the department application. Follow the link below to the City’s website. All other Lateral candidates will need to complete all the testing listed above.

Age:21Vision:Oregon's minimum standards to work as a law enforcement officer and background disqualifiers can be found in OAR 259-008-0010-0070.Academy Certification:Completion/ Certification: PreferredPrior Experience:PreferredMinimum Qualifications:Participate in competitive testing including physical fitness testing, reading comprehension, writing skills, written, physical/vision, hearing and psychological examinations, and be able to pass strict Police Department background investigation and drug testing. Must pass the pre-employment drug test. Must pass the pre-employment background check. Must be able to work periodic overtime and a variety of 24 hour rotating shifts including holidays and weekends. Ability to complete departmental recruit training course and to gain eligibility for Basic Certificate issued by the Oregon Board of Public Safety Standards and Training.Schooling Prior and Post Hiring:Be able to be certified as a police officer by the Department of Public Safety Standards and Training - DPSST Minimum Standards of Employment as a Law Enforcement Officer are located at www.oregon.gov/DPSST (Administrative Rule 259-008-0010).Felony, Criminal Activity Disqualifiers:Felony convictions. Misdemeanor convictions for: Domestic violence (DV); Currently named as the Respondent in a Restraining Order Crime of dishonesty; and/or, Crime that resulted in serious physical injury to another. Any repeated convictions of an offense which indicate disrespect for the law, a lack of good moral character or disposition towards violence and disorder.Driving Disqualifiers:No major traffic violations in the last three years and not more than one major traffic violation during a lifetime.Drug Use Disqualifiers:Illegal manufacture, transport, or sale of a controlled substance. Employment Disqualifiers:Discharge from employment, where such discharge indicates poor behavior and/or an inability adjusting to discipline. A Dishonorable Discharge from the armed forces.Additional Disqualifiers:Oregon's minimum standards to work as a law enforcement officer and background disqualifiers can be found in OAR 259-008-0010-0070.Other Hiring Information :OUT OF STATE CANDIDATES:If you have a valid and current PAT test from another State, you will still need to submit an ORPAT score because ORPAT is required as part of acquiring your Oregon DPSST certificate at the Academy once hired.
