Job Title: Patrol Officer (Entry & Lateral) Division/Department: Police
Salary: $24.77/hr. $31.41/hr.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

General Summary:

Performs limited duties of police officer. Primary function is enforcing the traffic codes of the State of Ohio and the City of East Cleveland. Additional duties required as needed at the discretion of the Chief of Police.

Essential Job Functions:

Traffic enforcement, high visibility in known high crime areas, school zones and business districts, serving outstanding warrants and patrol of assigned areas when needed.
Enforces the laws of the City and State and makes arrests of persons in violation of the laws and ordinances.
Directs traffic and issues citations.

Qualifications:

All applicants must be in excellent physical condition.
Ability to follow and carry out duties as prescribed by immediate supervisors.
Must have valid Ohio Driver's license and excellent driving record is a must.
Must have OPOTA certificate.
Must pass truth verification test.
Pre-employment and random drug screenings.
No felony convictions of any kind, extensive background check will be completed.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: OFFICE

The employee may be exposed to and work in a multi-stimuli office environment with open doors, equipment noise, with frequent interruptions by employees. Works indoors in a temperature-controlled environment.
