FIREFIGHTER PARAMEDIC [LATERAL] for CITY OF OAK HARBOR FIRE DEPARTMENT
NON-TRANSPORT ALS SERVICE

JOB REQUIREMENTS
Experience & Training
Equivalent combinations of education, training, and experience may be considered.
· U.S. citizen or lawful permanent resident
· Ability to read, write, and speak English
· Valid Driver’s License
· Acceptable driving record (per City insurance standards)
· Meet NFPA performance standards and Civil Service testing requirements
· Pass background investigation, including fingerprinting, criminal history, sexual offenses, and drug use screening
· Conditional offer includes medical exam, drug screen, and psychological evaluation
Other Requirements
· Pass annual medical exam and fitness-for-duty test
· Able to work 48-hour shifts, holidays, and overtime/call-backs as needed
· Complete required training and ongoing in-service courses
Qualifications
· Paramedic Certification (WA State or National Registry)
· IFSAC Firefighter 1 Certification (or equivalent)
Salary: up to $118,238 per year (includes a 15% premium over Firefighter/EMT salary for paramedic certification), depending on years of experience.
