Grundy County Sheriff’s Office is taking applications for entry-level Corrections Officers! When the current list is exhausted a new one will be formed from the applicants that test via this site. All candidates must complete testing through National Testing Network to be considered further in the process. Hiring Process:
1. Take Exams through NTN and complete the Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)2. Upload required documents. If requesting preference points, contact climbach@grundycountyil.org 3. Interview with the Merit Commission for possible placement on the eligibility list.
Once an opening occurs and before a conditional offer, the candidate must successfully pass a:1. polygraph2. medical exam3. background check4. drug test
Once all requirements are met, final approval is considered by the Merit Commission and Sheriff's Department.
Those who have met the above may be placed on a Preliminary Correctional Officer Eligibility List, which is valid for up to two years from the date of certification.
The Sheriff’s Office will then use this list to fill Correctional Officer openings. In order to be considered for a conditional offer of employment, the following must be met:
· Must pass the Illinois P.O.W.E.R. test (this Pre-Employment Condition is not required at the time of application)
· Pass a psychological examination, medical physical, drug screening, and, if required, a polygraph examination
· Pass a detailed background examination
