Make an impact: The City of Salem Police Department has an exciting new opportunity! We are seeking candidates for the position of Community Services Officer (CSO) to assist the public or sworn police officers with civil or property complaints where enforcement or arrest powers are not required.What you will do: As a CSO, you will travel to meet with citizens and inspect neighborhoods, investigate noise complaints, non-violent domestic problems, or health complaints to assess the magnitude of the issue and offer mitigation or resolution options. In this position, you will respond to non-injury accidents and assist in facilitating the exchange of information, maintaining traffic safety, and coordinating the removal of vehicles. You will also prepare non-injury traffic reports, record information for police reports, and document citizen concerns and suggestions to enhance law enforcement effectiveness.Additional information on job responsibilities:
