Starting salary for a Firefighter / Paramedic is $71,833.00

All candidates must complete the FireTEAM exam through National Testing Network, by the above date and time.

Eligibility List and Hiring Process:
Pass the written FireTeam NTN exam with a score of 70% or higher.
Oral interview with the Board of Commissioners.
Submit preference points for the final eligibility list: experience, licensed paramedic, veteran/military, education.
Successfully complete the Good Samaritan EMS System Entry requirements enabling status to operate and function within the Fire District's EMS System. A maximum of three(3) attempts to successfully complete and pass such requirements are needed to move forward in the hiring process.
Background investigation.
Psychological assessment.
Complete medical evaluation and drug screening.
The Oakbrook Terrace Fire Protection District is a combination department. We are a growing Fire Protection District that is devoted to interacting, protecting and serving our residents and surrounding communities. Members of MABAS Division 12 that participate in specialty teams, Hazardous Materials Team, Technical Rescue Team and Water Rescue Team.
