Position Title: Career/Full-Time Firefighter
Salary Information: Recruit FF- $55,120 Lateral FF- $60,080-$79,835
Benefit Information:

Certification Pay- Up to $2,400 annually

Department Overview

Campbell County Fire Department is a "Combination Fire Department" consisting of 41 full-time staff, more than 45 part-time staff, and multiple support personnel. We provide structural and wildland fire response, rescue, first responder EMS and hazardous materials response services to the City of Gillette, Town of Wright and unincorporated Campbell County.

Our department includes 10 structural fire stations (3 are staffed), a training center, a fleet maintenance facility and several rural wildland fire support stations.

Campbell County Fire Department also hosts the State of Wyoming Regional Emergency Response Team One. Advanced life support and transport EMS is provided by the Campbell County Memorial Hospital.

Hiring Process:

Successfully pass the National Testing Network online exam
Successful candidates will be invited to participate in the Physical Abilities Test (modified combat challenge)
Oral board interview, Chiefs interview, Background check, drug test, medical
physical, psychological exam, conditional offer.

Job Description – FLSA Non-Exempt

GENERAL SUMMARY

Protects life and property from different hazards by means of fire suppression, rescue, medical, and hazmat training. Applies fire suppression methods to control and stop property damage, saves lives through rescue from fire or other hazardous environments, performs safety inspections, and performs public fire safety education to prevent fires. Responds to emergency calls to provide efficient and immediate care to the critically ill and injured. Participates in continued education and advanced training. Performs various administrative duties. Manages administrative accounts. Maintains a high level of physical fitness and endurance, maintains a healthy lifestyle and diet. Maintains apparatus and equipment. Performs at the advanced journey level in the class series.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

The intent of this job description is to provide a representative summary of the major duties and responsibilities performed by employees in this job. Employees may be requested to perform job-related tasks other than those specifically presented in this description.

Provides incident response ranging from minor to major life and safety events in all hazards.
Creates openings in buildings for ventilation or entrance using ax, power saw, or other power equipment.
Protects property from water and smoke by use of positive pressure ventilation, waterproof salvage covers, and other modern techniques.
Administers basic life support to injured or ill persons.
Communicates with fire officers and fire fighters during emergencies using portable and mobile two-way radios.
Maintains cleanliness and proper working order of fire station, grounds , vehicles, and equipment.
Helps to maintain apparatus and equipment as part of a team under the supervision of a Captain.
Attends regular training sessions and meetings to maintain and upgrade firefighting skills.
Participates in drills, demonstrations, and courses in hydraulics, pump operation and maintenance, firefighting techniques, and SCBA training.
Participates in public education for fire safety.
Maintains a high level of physical fitness that includes the ability to wear a self contained breathing apparatus (SCBA).
Performs related work as required or directed.
