Spring Hiring for August 2026 Fire Academy
Arvada Fire plans to open applications for EMTs and Paramedics in February 2026 for an August 2026 fire academy. Applications will be accepted until we reach 100 qualified applicants or March 31, 2026.
Carefully review the minimum qualifications. Prepare your application packet in advance and verify it against the requirements of the job posting. Incomplete applications will be rejected. If your application is rejected for being incomplete, you may reapply if the application period is still open.
** Job applications are NOT currently open. We will accept FireTEAM test scores before the application window opens. **
To be considered for the hiring process, you must complete the following steps:
· Complete and successfully pass the FireTEAM Exam through the National Testing Network (NTN) by February 1, 2026. You are encouraged to complete the exam before applications are open so you won’t miss the deadline. If you have a current passing score that is valid through May 2026, share your score with Arvada Fire.
· Applications will open in February 2026. When applications are open for Firefighter positions, you will find the application HERE:
· Submit an online Arvada Fire application by the deadline in the job posting. As a reminder the application process will close when 100 qualified applications are received.
Once you apply and pass the minimum qualifications screening, all updates and/or instructions regarding the hiring process will be sent via email as it becomes available.

Arvada Fire is dedicated to responder safety. After academy, employees will be assigned to a 48/96 schedule, which allows flexibility in choosing where to live and plenty of time to take advantage of all that Colorado has to offer!
Firefighting is physically demanding. In order to pass academy and successfully perform the duties of the position, candidates and firefighters must maintain a high level of physical fitness. While a CPAT is not required to apply, candidates will be tested for physical ability during the hiring process, periodically during academy and annually once hired.
