Position Title: Full Time Police Dispatcher
The City of Twinsburg is hiring for the position of Full Time Police Dispatcher. Candidates are required to complete National Testing Network’s Emergency Communications (ECOMM) National Exam by July 31st, 2025.
Twinsburg is a suburban city in Summit County, Ohio, located halfway between Akron and Cleveland. Many families and young professionals live in Twinsburg because of the dense suburban feel and the highly rated public schools. Most residents of Twinsburg own their homes. The City of Twinsburg Police Department is a full-service agency, providing police protection to a city of approximately 19,000 residents and a land area of almost 14 square miles. The Police Communications Unit prides itself on its strong partnership with the community and high service levels. Our organization includes a Chief, 3 Lieutenants, 4 Patrol Sergeants, 26 Patrol Officers, a Communications Supervisor, 9 Dispatchers, 2 Records Clerks, as well as part time personnel.
Starting Wage:
The starting annual probationary compensation rate in 2025 is $27.74/hour ($57,699.20 annually) plus benefits. The top pay range in 2025 is $34.28/hour ($71,302.40 annually). Wages once hired as a Dispatcher/Record Clerk are determined by a collective bargaining agreement.

DISPATCHER/RECORDS CLERK ENTRANCE EXAM
The City of Twinsburg is seeking to establish an eligibility list for the position of Dispatcher/Records Clerk. This is a full-time, classified, non-exempt union position. An employee in this position is responsible for obtaining and delivering information in a timely manner, as needed, for the safety and security of the community. Receives incoming calls for service via 9-1-1 emergency lines, non-emergency lines, and radio transmissions and is responsible for prioritizing and dispatching the appropriate personnel (police and fire) to the proper locations to aid the public.
Candidates must complete the National Testing Network (NTN) Emergency Communications Exam by 11:55 p.m. July 31st, 2025 to be considered for the position.
To register with NTN and schedule a test, go to www.nationaltestingnetwork.com, select ‘Find Jobs’, then select Emergency Communications Jobs and sign up for City of Twinsburg, under the Ohio heading.
· Complete the NTN registration process and schedule your test.
· Review detailed information about the testing process.
· Review the Frequently Asked Questions and take an online practice test (if desired).
Upon completion of your exam, scores are automatically forwarded to the City of Twinsburg.
Candidates must apply with the City of Twinsburg in order to move forward in the process. The position of Dispatcher/Records Clerk will be posted under Job Openings on the City of Twinsburg’s website: www.mytwinsburg.com or can be accessed through www.governmentjobs.com/careers/twinsburg .
Candidates who attain a passing score of at least 70% on the entry level exam and complete an employment application will be placed on the City of Twinsburg’s eligibility list and invited to participate in further stages of the selection process.

· Current valid driver’s license
· High School diploma or GED
· Additional credit: Proof of service in the uniformed services must be submitted at the time of application in order to receive additional credit. Minimum requirements include:
· High school diploma or general education degree (GED);
· Eighteen (18) years of age and a U.S. citizen;
· Valid Ohio Drivers License and a good driving history;
· No felony convictions or conviction of an offense that would be a felony if committed in Ohio.
· Must be able to pass a background investigation which includes a polygraph exam and attain and maintain certifications for local, state and national criminal history databases and associated tele-communications systems.
· Applicants who receive a conditional job offer must meet all requirements set by the Twinsburg Civil Service Commission including a pre-employment drug screen (which includes marijuana/THC) and psychological assessment.
· Employees in this position must maintain reliable, punctual attendance. A successful applicant must be able to perform the essential functions of the position and must be able to multi-task, exercise independent judgement, communicate effectively, follow instructions and react professionally and appropriately in emergencies and under stressful circumstances.

The employee may lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
