The Watertown Fire Department is currently accepting entry level and lateral transfer applications for the position of Firefighter/Paramedic with the City of Watertown. The Watertown Fire Department is looking for energetic personnel that are dedicated to providing public service in areas of fire protection, emergency medical services, fire prevention, and public education.

The Watertown Fire Department is a full-time fire department with a service area of 136 square miles covering approximately 30,000 citizens. The fire department operates out of one station which is staffed with a maximum of 9 personnel working 24-hour shifts. The Watertown Fire Department responds to both city and rural emergency calls, uses a two-paramedic service, and runs an average of 3,000 emergency calls per year.

Salary Range:

Firefighter/EMT = $59,724.48 - $85,079.94
Firefighter/Paramedic = $62,385.48 - $88,884.36

Minimum Requirements:

18 years of age or older
High School Diploma, GED or HSED
Valid Unrestricted Driver's License
State of Wisconsin Firefighter 1 certification (or IFSAC Accredited)
Hazardous Materials Operations certificate
National Incident Management System (NIMS) Incident Command System (ICS) 100, 200, 700 & 800 certifications
State of Wisconsin or National Registry Emergency Medical Technician-Basic (EMT-B) License

As a condition of employment, Firefighter/Paramedic/Operators shall complete the following within specified timeframe:

CPAT Certification obtained in the last 12 months or or by the time of offer
State of Wisconsin EMT Paramedic License within 24 months of hire
State of Wisconsin Driver Operator/Pumper within 24 months of hire or date determined by Chief
State of Wisconsin Firefighter 2 certification (or IFSAC Accredited) within 24 months of hire or date determined by Chief
