Job Classification: Patrol Officer

Test scores through NTN are good for one year; it is the applicant's responsibility to submit unexpired test scores to the city.

COMPENSATION: $79,147- 3rd Class with OPOTA Certificate; $68,777- Officer at the Academy. Top pay after two years: $97,538.

CREDIT: Preference Points up to a maximum of 10 points are awarded as follows:
Associate Degree: 2 points
Bachelor’s Degree: 4 points
Military Service: Proper proof of honorable discharge (DD214) After serving 180 days on active duty, you earn 1 point for each additional full year served, up to a maximum of 10 points
City Service: Current employees in good standing moving from part-time to full-time in the same job classification will receive 8 points, provided they have completed all probationary requirements.

ADDITIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
· Successfully passing the background check.
· Ability to obtain and maintain certification in Law Enforcement Automatic Data System (LEADS).
· Successfully passing yearly weapons qualification.
· Thorough knowledge of modern law enforcement principles, procedures, techniques, and equipment
· Attention to detail and ability to make decisions without direct supervision within the guidelines of the law and departmental policy.
· Excellent problem-solving abilities and initiative
