The Reno Fire Department is planning on a Spring Firefighter Academy, tentatively scheduled to begin on April 24, 2026.
The cutoff date for application submission, EMT (or higher) licensure, and CPAT certification is March 1, 2026. All required licenses and certifications must be valid through the cutoff date. Applicants whose documents are nearing expiration are advised to take appropriate action to maintain eligibility.
Future academy dates will be updated as and when we receive them.
As applications are received, results will be merged into one eligible list according to final ratings, pursuant to the rules and regulations of the Civil Service Commission: Rule VI, Section 11, Continuous Examination. Candidates must also complete a City application, found at www.reno.gov/jobs.
