The Wilmington Fire Department is currently hiring Firefighter/Paramedic/EMTs! All candidates must complete a department application, located here. Salary Information: Per the Collective Bargaining Agreement, entry-level annual compensation for 2026 begins at $70,684.12 (Firefighter) or $73,927.93 (Firefighter/Paramedic), based on certifications. Employees are also eligible for holiday pay and overtime in accordance with the CBA. Lateral transfers from full-time combination Fire/EMS departments are accepted. Starting pay for lateral hires is based on verified years of full-time service, with placement on the wage scale up to a current maximum base salary of $84,678.83 (Paramedic rate).
Benefit Information: Health benefits are effective on the first day of employment and include medical, dental, vision, and participation in the Ohio Police & Fire Pension Fund. Employees may also elect FSA and voluntary life insurance options. Paid vacation and sick leave accrue in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement.
