Salary Information: $75,190 - $115,689

Prior municipal experience and required certifications may be eligible to start at pay step 2 or 3
13 days off in the 1st yr

Department Overview

The Westchester Fire Department consists of 27 sworn full-time members that operate out of 2 stations and respond to app 3,600 calls each year. As a member of MABAS Division 20, personnel have the opportunity to join multiple teams within the Division.

Job Requirements

Age: 21-35 unless exempt
US Citizen: US Citizen or permanent resident status
High School Grad/GED: Yes
Valid State Driver’s License: Yes, Illinois
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
CPAT card dated within the last 12 months of application deadline
College: Valid Illinois Department of Public Health Paramedic license due at time of hire.

Applicants not currently in possession of an EMT-P license shall be allowed to complete the testing process by submitting proof of current enrollment in a State of Illinois IDPH approved paramedic program. Applicants must provide proof of enrollment in the program by submitting a letter of good standing from the organization sponsoring their enrollment or by the course administrator, on their letterhead.
