Salary Information: $41,558.40 to $62,795.20 based on experience

Department Overview: We are located on the shores of Lake Erie, with a population increase during the summer months. We area progressive, well trained agency striving to provide the best possible service to our community. Community Oriented Policing is our philosophy and we receive strong support from the citizens of Huron.
City Information: Huron is located in Erie County on the shores of Lake Erie, making Huron a Great Lakes Place. The city of Huron is a progressive small town with all the amenities of a larger city. We have a public boat launch (free of charge), a city owned and operated marina, several private marinas, several parks, and a premier youth baseball/softball facility, just to list a few of the many great features in the city of Huron.

Valid OHIO State Driver's License: Yes
Ability to Read/Speak English: Yes
Vision: Correctible to 20/20
College: Preferred, not required (paid incentive based on degree)
Academy Certification: Yes, the Ohio Peace Officers Training Academy Certification or able to obtain said certification prior to appointment.
Prior Experience: Not required
Necessary Certifications: OPOTA certification or the ability to obtain certification prior to appointment.

QUALIFICATIONS: High School Diploma, G.E.D., or equivalent certificate, with a strong preference for a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice, Police Science, Criminology, Government, Political Science, Public Administration or other relevant field, or equivalent combination or education, training, and experience that would allow the incumbent to demonstrate the following knowledge, skills, and abilities:
